Yes rice is the number 1 food in Koh Samui and if this makes you miss crusty breads, homemade pies, and decadent cakes, know that there are many places you can visit on the island to get your fix. Whether you are craving for some dark chocolate cake, croissants, or yummy cupcakes, here are some recommendations.

Tanya’s Cafe

Address: 80/4 Moo 3, Chaweng Beach Road, Between The New Villas and First Residence Hotel, Chaweng Beach Road, Ko Samui 84320, Thailand

Sure to be one of the best cafes locally, Tanya’s Cafe is worth visiting if you are craving for a slice of cake and a satisfying cup of hot coffee. The place is casual and eclectic, with interesting accents and relaxing color scheme that brings to mind freshly baked goods and coffee beans. Their specialties include luxury breakfast, coffee & tea, and homemade cakes. Aside from these, people also go here for their yummy ice creams and freshly made smoothies.

Among the baked stuff we love from them is their carrot cake. This is amazing, with just the right hint of sweetness and smooth spice blend that will instantly remind you of autumn. A filling snack is their ham & cheese croissant. This is well stuffed and the bread itself is yummy with a nice buttery taste. For something sweet, don’t miss out on their tiramisu. This tastes so decadent and is smooth as silk. Definitely try this. If you want to buy some bread to go, we suggest their rye bread. This is homemade and goes with almost anything, even plain butter. You may also want to try their pumpkin pie which is so delicious. If you love something creamy and tangy, their cheesecake will hit the spot for sure. They also have gluten free brownie, seeds cookies, and mixed fruit pancakes.

To go with your cake of choice, we suggest their caramel cappuccino. It is creamy, but with a full bodied coffee flavor. Yummy. For a stronger kick, you can’t go wrong with their espresso. It is robust with an aroma that is so enticing. This will surely wake you up in one sip.

Other stunners from the house are the luxury breakfast, homemade coconut ice cream, and banana pancakes. At Tanya’s Cafe, your longing for baked goods will easily be satisfied. Oh and don’t forget to order their breakfast jar too. It is so tasty and an excellent way to start your day.

Cream Cafe Samui

Address: 45 Moo.2 chaweng Beach road,, Bophut, Ko Samui 84320, Thailand

Aptly named, you’d easily think of desserts and coffee when you stop by this place in Chaweng. It is a French inspired cafe where you can spend a casual afternoon sipping coffee. It is a nice spot to have breakfast and snacks too. If you want to have some brownies and a variety of cake options for a celebration, you can visit. Among their best sellers are their chocolate cake, red velvet cake, and gelato. Their cakes taste homemade and are worth the calories. They have a wide selection of coffee blends too as well as smoothies if you want something caffeine free.

Cream Cafe has a Wi-Fi and is praised for its reasonable prices and great service. The ambience is really relaxing and the area is clean. It’s just a lovely cafe in Samui. This dining place could easily be one of your favorite spots on the island. For sure you will come back for more of their yummy selection of bread and desserts.

Zing

Address: 38/2 Moo 3, Borpud | Front of Centara Grand Beach Resort, Chaweng, Bophut, Ko Samui 84320, Thailand

A bakeshop next to Centara Grand Beach Resort is Zing. This is a bit pricey as compared to other cafes but the service is good and the menu shows a lot of promise. They sell delicious breads here and if you like croissants, muffins, and bagels, this is a cozy nook to check out. Its setting is very beautiful, making it the best place to have your favorite cup of coffee.

Zing is often raved about because of its sandwiches. They have salami, tuna, and grilled chicken sandwich. They also serve Parma ham sandwich. However, the crowd favorite seems to be their roast beef one. This is really tasty and meaty. If something sweet is what you like, go for their rich vanilla cupcake. This is like heaven in every bite

Samui Delice

Address: 119/27 Moo 2 Chaweng Beach, Chaweng, Bophut, Ko Samui 84320, Thailand

A really cute European style cafe at Chaweng Beach is Samui Delice. Unlike most places that open around 10 am,this cafe opens early—around 7 am so you can stop by if you want to have breakfast or buy some bread to go. You will love its charming interiors, which in weird way makes you want to think of ice cream. Diners love it here because there is a wide selection of baked goods and the service is quick.

Samui Delice sells cakes for different occasions so if you are looking for something to celebrate your birthday, anniversary, or what have you, simply stop by and pick from their yummy cakes. They have black forest cake, strawberry cake, chocolate, and many more. They also serve the best lemon tart.

Other stuff we love at Samui Delice are their eclairs. These taste amazing and come in chocolate and coffee flavors. We also like their tiramisu, which is creamy and addictive. Typical combos here include an order of their latte along with their croissant. For a few baht, you will have your French goodies fix. They also sell baguette, fruit mousse, and  croque Monsieur. If you want something quick  try one of their baguette sandwiches. These are filling and offer great value for money.

Other items on the menu include burgers, omelets, fries, salads, and ice cream. Their food taste homemade and are priced just right. If you want to chill after touring or are in need of a nice caffeine fix, this is highly recommended.
