Sometimes nothing will hit the spot food wise except for pasta. A hidden gem for pizza and pasta lovers is Pasta House. Located along the Chaweng Beach Road, this is an ideal restaurant for the whole family. The service is impressive and the quality of food is great.

For starters, the focaccia bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil is as classic as it can get. This is an acquired taste but if you happen to take a liking to it, it will be a favorite. Of course we also can’t say no to their goat cheese salad. This has goat cheese, toast, lettuce, bacon, tomatoes, and a yummy honey dressing. Another superb salad is the Italian salad. This has zucchini, sun-dried tomatoes, pesto with white wine and cream sauce. It is so tasty and a good start to your meal. Their bruschetta are beyond amazing too. Our favorite is the salmon bruschetta that has smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, red onions, and a little lemon juice. Of course you can’t go wrong with the classic version that has tomato, basil, and mozzarella.

You might have guessed based on the restaurant’s name that they serve many pasta dishes. This they do. A simple dish is the aglio e olio. With very Italian flavors such as roasted garlic, olive oil, and parmesan, this is bound to satisfy your cravings for flavors of Italy. Something your kids might like is the mushroom alfredo. This has shitake mushrooms, bacon, spinach, and garlic. It tastes really good. Seafood lovers should order the house’s marinara. This includes tiger prawns, calamari, clams, and mussels. A must try.

Apart from the pasta, you can also get delicious panini here. Their tomato and mozzarella panini is a tasty meal that will work any time of the day. Other flavors that are worth a shot are the smoked chicken  and salmon & cream. To complement your food, try something from their wine selection. Oh and don’t miss out on their tiramisu.

Overall,Pasta House offers great Italian meals at reasonable prices. Try it the next time you want a bolognese or pizza.

Giulietta e Romeo

A quaint but very romantic Italian restaurant in Koh Samui is Giulietta e Romeo. This dining place is well loved because the dishes resonate with authentic Italian flavors. Everything is made fresh every day and one can really taste the passion of the chef with each bite.

They have a good selection of classic Italian entrees and appetizers. Among the best ones are the bread and olives. This is a simple yet stimulating dish that is also perfect for sharing. Of course their bruschettas are also excellent. Try the tomato bruschetta or the smoked salmon one. Both are good. Another winner from the menu is the buffalo mozzarella. This is so creamy yet lightly flavored. It goes well with bread and wine. If deli meat is what you are craving for, order a plate of their cold cuts and cheese. This dish will instantly take you to Italy with its authentic Mediterranean taste.

Giulietta e Romeo is a home to some of the best pastas in Koh Samui. Their black truffle pasta is the bomb. It has the distinct flavor of truffles which is very, very good. Then there’s the putanesca. This has an addictive salty taste that is just awesome. Another interesting pasta dish is the tagliatelle with salmon. Be sure to try it.

For dessert, you can never go wrong with the chocolate lava cake. This is rich, decadent, and so smooth. Or you can go for the Italian favorite tiramisu which is quite tasty too.

Hailed to serve some of the best pizzas in Koh Samui, Da Bardo sure is one of Samui’s very popular Italian restaurants. This is located in Maenam and is a casual dining place where you can have your Italian food fix. Their pizzas are big, tasty, and have generous toppings.

Prego

Address: Chaweng Beach Road | Amari Koh Samui, Chaweng, Bophut, Ko Samui 84320, Thailand

A lovely restaurant at Chaweng Beach Road is Prego. Whether you want some risotto, pizza, or a juicy steak cooked just the way you like it, you should come to Prego. Here they serve delicious Italian dishes from antipasti to entrees and desserts.

Pizzas are among the house’s specialty and they serve many different kinds. A standard Italian pizza is  the formaggi. This is filled with cheesy goodness since it has mozzarella, taleggio, scamorza, and gorgonzola. Another basic pizza is the margherita. This tastes beautiful in its simplicity. It has tomato sauce, basil, and mozzarella. If you want things hot, try the diavola pizza. This has heat from the spicy salami and fresh chili. It is actually yummy.

Many diners commend Prego because of their anti-pasti. Their antipasto misto has everything you need in your Italian feast. It has cheese, cold cuts, and veggies. Another good one is the seafood salad. This is flavored with wild fennel and pesto. So good! Of course don’t forget to try their burrata fresca. It is just perfection.

For those who are lemming for risotto, their risotto taleggio e tartufo is phenomenal. The black truffle flavor shines through and the risotto is cooked just right. The 4-cheese risotto is very good too.

Meat lovers should not miss out on their saltimbocca. The veal is perfect and the Parma ham, fresh sage, and eggplant caponata add dimension. Then there’s the oven baked lamb chops. This dish is a winner in our books too.

Desserts are something Prego does really well. They have orange flavored panna cotta, affogato, and coconut mousse. Or if you want something chilled, go for the gelati.
