Dining out with children is always interesting. It is rarely boring since kids basically know what they want and will exhaust all their energy in order to let you know that they are not backing down (at least not easily). Children are generally picky when it comes to food and avoid certain textures, colors, and smells that don’t call out to them. They love those that are easy and fun to eat and basically those that easily cross the junk food territory, to the dismay of most parents. If meals are a struggle because of your picky eater/s, here are some restaurants in Koh Samui where you can take them.
Angela’s Bakery and Cafe
Located in Maenam, Angela’s Bakery and Cafe is heaven sent for parents with hard to please kids. The decor and the overall theme of the restaurant is casual yet inviting. It actually looks homey. Among the things this place is known for is that it serves yummy and filling breakfast even past noon. If you wake up late and you fancy bacon and eggs, it’s possible.
The menu is centered on Canadian comfort food so expect to see a lot of bacon, potatoes, and pancakes. Kids love it here because it has a peaceful yet friendly vibe. It is not too stuffy and the food is delicious. They have a wide selection of sandwiches, good coffee, and some notable Thai dishes too. Among the recommended items on the menu are the house’s club sandwich (this is so yummy!), smoked turkey sandwich, and the German Big Breakfast. Their freshly brewed coffee will wake you up for sure and your kids won’t have a hard time choosing something they like since there are crepes, omelette, porridge, soups, pies, and so much more. Their minced beef and onion pie is a hearty dish. We also can’t get enough of their chili con carne.

The Hungry Wolf
Another no-fail place to bring your children is at the Hungry Wolf. This is hailed by many diners as the home of the best burgers in Koh Samui. Their hamburgers sure look and taste delicious, with abundant toppings and great tasting dressings too. This place serves brunch, lunch, and dinner and is a great venue to head to if your group is craving for comfort foods and your kids want pizza or fries.
The Hungry Wolf is famous for its steak too. In addition, local dishes are also present on the menu so if the tots want potatoes but you want a good bowl of Thai curry, this restaurant can make everybody happy. Hardcore meat lovers will have a great time choosing among their Australian steaks while pizza lovers will surely be able to find something that will hit the spot. Their Quattro Formaggi is a classic goodie. Cheesy, creamy, and very tasty. Their Carbonara pizza is also one that your picky eaters will totally enjoy. This has bacon, artichoke, mozzarella and bechamel sauce. Among their burgers, the easy winner is the Wagyu. Although their shrimp burger is also noteworthy. If pasta is what you want, they have an impressive selection too. Don’t forget to try their sweet potato fries. They are delicious.
Some of the reasons why we love The Hungry Wolf is that they bake the buns they use. Also, they make their sauces from scratch so food tastes homemade and not commercial.
With Hungry Wolf, breakfast is yummy too. Come in the morning for a filling meal to start your day.

Leonardo Ice Cream
If ice cream is your children’s staple food or if you just want to treat them to something cool to beat the heat, then visit Leonardo Ice Cream. This place has the yummiest ice creams and sorbets. Their flavors combine classics with novel creations. Brownies and Nutella are very popular among kids. While adults fancy Caramel with salt butter, rhum raisin, and coffee from Brazil. Their amaretto is very nice too and so is their Tiramisu. Actually every flavor is a possible favorite. It just depends on what your tastes are. If you avoid dairy and would want something light but equally refreshing, their sorbets are a must try. Their sorbets are sugar free and addictive. We love the coconuts, lime, and passionfruit. They taste so amazing.
