If you are in for some giggles, a must stop in Samui is the Hin Ta Hin Yai or the Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks. These rock formations have captured the interest of many because of their naughty shapes that connote the male and female genitalia.

 

 

See The Big Buddha Temple
Wat Phra Yai is a 12-metre attraction that features a seating Buddha. This was made in 1972 and is one of the most frequented sites on the island. Since this is a place of worship, visitors are required to dress conservatively during visits. For those who want to experience the temple at its best, it is recommended that you schedule your visit in the morning.

 

 

Stop by the Plai Laem Temple
This famous temple is situated on the northeast coast of the island. The highlight of this attraction is a giant 18-arm statue of the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion. This temple highlights Chinese influence in terms of religion. Appropriate clothing should be worn during visits. Revealing clothing and too casual outfits are not allowed. 

 

 

Enjoy nature at the Anthong National Marine Park.
Nature lovers should visit Anthong National Marine Park while in Koh Samui. This park is made up of more than 40 islands and is famous for its natural beauty and fascinating ecosystem. This marine park has plenty to offer its visitors such as caves, lagoons, and highly diverse marine life. Colorful coral gardens are some of its best offerings. Riding a speedboat is a recommended way to get the most of your visit to this park.

 

 

Shop at the Fisherman Village on a Friday.
If you are interested in great local finds but you don’t want to spend a lot of money, a good place to visit is the Fisherman Village. Here you can buy a number of beautifully made local crafts and find some interesting items such as silk bags and handmade footwear. The Fisherman Village in Bophut is also a nice place to feast on fresh seafood.  Open all year round, this is a good family attraction to try.

 

 

Check out the Sunday night market in Lamai.
Another great place to shop on the island is during Sunday in Lamai. This is a nice venue to shop for beachwear and local jewelry.
