Phuket is an exciting island to visit because of its many exciting attractions. Whether you want to explore its nature gifts, get most of its tropical climate, or perhaps experience something that you have never tried before, Phuket is a destination that will surely deliver and never disappoint.

Phuket’s Waterfalls

Among the island’s most frequented sites are its waterfalls. The tropical weather of Phuket makes swimming in the falls a lot of fun. The Bang Pae Waterfall is a part of the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park and is Phuket’s biggest waterfall. Swimming here is a lot of fun plus, the atmosphere is very relaxing. Kathu Waterfall is smaller but is also worthy of a visit.

 

Wat Chalong

There are a number of temples on the island and probably the most significant of them all is Wat Chalong. This is well known among the locals because it is believed to possess some healing powers. People with various illnesses and ailments come here often. Aside from hoping to be healed, patrons also come to visit to ask for blessings from the monks.

 

Wat Phra Tong

Another important temple in Phuket, this temple’s trademark is the huge golden Buddha statue. It is said that whoever attempts to dig the statue will experience plenty of misfortunes, even death.

 

Beaches

Phuket, like most islands in Thailand, is famous for its romantic white sand beaches. It is no wonder that Phuket is one of the most frequented islands in Asia as it is beautiful and gifted with turquoise beaches that never fail to awe. Examples are Kata Beach, Karon Beach, and Layan Beach.

 

Phuket Town

A place on the island where you can find the most tourist spots and immerse yourself in the local culture is at Phuket Town. Since this is the capital, here you can find really interesting establishments. The Old Town has traces of its rich mining history and is among the frequented sites. At Phuket Town, you can also find the Weekend Market, the Butterfly Garden, and the interactive Phuket Trickeye Museum. Some of the popular shrines and temples are also located here such as Jui Tui Chinese Temple and Jao Mae Kuan Im Shrine.

 

Phuket Simon Cabaret

Cabarets are a big part of the local culture and if you haven’t seen one yet, make sure that you stop by Phuket Simon Cabaret on your visit. The ladyboy performers are a class of their own and make every show come to life.

For those who want to see good live entertainment along with their meals, Palazzo Theatre will delight you. This combines top notch performances with seriously good food.

 

Elephant Safaris

Like in most parts of Thailand, Phuket offers elephant safaris. These creatures are loved all over the country and while in Phuket, you can take an elephant ride you won’t forget.
