Activities

Swimming Beach:
Ya Nui Beach is found between Nai Harn and Promthep Cape, this beach is considered to have fairly good snorkeling available. Ya Nuis popularity has increased in recent years as it is now a launch point for divers and is lined with beach chairs for rent, but it is still a relatively relaxed, and with its small, informal restaurant and friendly staff, it is a great venue for a sun downer as the sunsets.
Restaurants:
Certainly the most well known and popular local restaurant and bar, located in the centre of Nai Harn is DaVinci. This Italian Restaurant offering a great selection of European and Thai specialities, also make their own pizzas (offering entertainment for kids to make their own) and has a separate play area where kids can safely play and be amused while parents relax and enjoy dinner.
Bars & Nightclubs:
Soi Bangla is the heart and soul of Patong where you will find more than one hundred bars, falling into five different categories: Western bars or pubs; Beer Bars (Girlie Bars); Go–Go bars, Nightclubs and Karaoke bars. Many of the bars lining either side of Bangla Road are Beer Bars, and this is usually where most people start drinking as many have Happy Hour and show sporting events on large televisions. As bars gradually start to fill up as tourists finish dinner, shopping and watching shows, the fun of the Go–Go Bars and Karaoke bars becomes enticing, and if you are really keen to party the night away you can end the nght in one of several nightclubs. The official closing time is 2am, but many venues close later, however it does depend on the number of guests still partying and how vigilant the police are at checking the operating times.
Shopping:
A large number of markets are located throughout Phuket, they are found on every main beach road, and in the towns, usually looking more like permanent shops than portable markets, these shopping areas offer a variety of souvenirs and locally produced merchandise. There are also a number of shops offering copies of designer tee shirts, bags, watches, jewellery and of course you will find DVD, music and game copies. It is usual to be escorted into a back or hidden room to view the full range of merchandise as supplying and buying fake or copy goods is illegal. Although it is common practice throughout Asia, you must take into consideration you are buying illegally produced goods if you decide to go ahead with your purchases.
